Description

Panic Ensues is an indie game studio that makes mobile games for iOS and Android. Sometimes it goes temporarily insane and makes a PC game. Half business, half hobby, it's a way for the owner/sole developer to continue to make small, personal games now that he's retired from his "day job" of working on big AAA projects.

History

Origins

Panic Ensues was founded in 2014 by Scott Goffman as a side project while working full-time at Blizzard Entertainment. He had an urge to play the kind of games he grew up with on the Apple II and Amiga, but soon realized that nobody was making them anymore. So (as is often the case) if you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself. Thus Panic Ensues Software was born, specifically to create "Crash Dive", a game that should have existed but didn't.

Going indie

After shipping Overwatch in 2017, Scott decided to leave Blizzard to pursue solo development of indie games. Panic Ensues shipped Tail Gun Charlie for Android and iOS that year, followed in 2018 by Xenoform for the PC. For the last two years, Panic Ensues has been hard at work on a sequel to Crash Dive.
